Dr. Jonathan Otten

Dr. Otten is a naturopathic doctor who is passionate about helping individuals with complex illness to recover their health. He specializes in Lyme disease and other tickborne illness, autism, as well as other neuroimmune-mediated conditions. He also treats a wide variety of gastrointestinal, immunological, endocrinological, and rheumatological conditions.

Dr. Otten will be the first naturopathic doctor in the state of Minnesota to be a fellow of the Medical Academy of Pediatric Special Needs, a forward thinking group of medical professionals focused on the biomedical treatment of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other neurodevelopmental disorders.  He began studying autism 16 years ago while a pre-med student at the University of Minnesota, his interest being sparked while caring for a close family member with the condition. Now his 5 year-old son, Xander, is on his own path of recovery from autism. Dr. Otten has an intense interest in helping each child that comes to his office reach his/her full potential.

When he is not caring for his patients, he loves spending time with his wife and their 3 young children and enjoys cooking, grilling, camping, and riding his fat tire bike on trails throughout Minnesota.

Mary Clark, APRN-CNP

Mary Clark is a Family Nurse Practitioner with a special interest in Integrative Medicine.   She is passionate about disease prevention and partnering with patients to discover their individualized path to healing, balance, optimal health, and restoring wellness through a functional medicine approach, which looks at root causes and the underlying reasons leading to illness.

As a busy working mom raising 2 teenagers, she understands the demands that life places on us - body, mind, and spirit - and the importance of building strong relationships and support systems.  Mary had been in a part-time collaborative practice at Northern Lights Medicine since March of 2020 and joined us as a full time practitioner in June of 2023.

Her interests outside of medicine include education, reading, prioritizing self care, meditation and prayer, camping, travel, and spending time with her family and loved ones.   She is a member of the Institute for Functional Medicine and is actively working toward her certification.
